A day in the life of a West London locksmith

11am- Mortlake locksmith.  1st Response was needed to open a locked garage. Because there was a possibility of the key for the lock being inside, it was necessary that we gained access with no damage. We picked the Yale cylinder open with no problems but there was no key to be found amongst all of the junk so we swapped over the cylinder anyway.

12am- Chiswick locksmith. A well known recruitment company needed a local locksmith to have a look at a Era sashlock that was becoming difficult to operate. 1st Response made a swift job of repairing the lock and handles, making the lock feel brand new once again for the staff.

1.30am- Ladbroke Grove locksmith. Funny one- A guy, staying at his sisters flat for the night, let himself out of the flat into the corridor area closing the door behind him. He headed to the main entrance where he found that the Chubb mortice lock on that door had been locked by a neighbour in the morning when he left for work. So, as he had no keys to get back into his sisters flat, no neighbours were in and there were no windows, he was trapped in the small corridor area between the two flats. 1st Response arrived and after speaking to the guy through the letterbox to find out what happend and a cheeky giggle to myself, I granted an exit for him- much to his relief.

4pm- Richmond locksmith. A lady found herself locked out when she realised she had given her rim lock key to builders who were carrying out work inside- but had left by the time she arrived home. 1st Response again had to make sure we granted access with no damage to the lock so that the existing keys would still work.

5pm- Hayes locksmith. 1st Response was called out to a faulty Era multipoint lock on the back door of a house, which would not lock. After removing the lock we discovered it was unrepairable as an important plate inside the lock-case had snapped. We had to secure the door for the night and order a new lock for the customer on next day delivery.

6.30pm- Hounslow locksmith. An elderly lady and her daughter found themselves in a bit of a pickle when they lost the key for the front UPVC door. They claimed that they lost the key inside the house and had been looking for it all day. They had plans to go out in the evening and could not leave the door unlocked so they called for a local, professional lock specialist to remove and replace the euro profile cylinder, providing them with 3 new keys and the power to lock their door once again.
